As a mom working or not I think we always need to do several things at the same time and I discovered that the kids ate when we are on the phone or try to send an email while they are awake.
So the IPhone is perfect because they can be at the playground or we can be everywhere and enjoy this time to write an email, to read a newspaper online.
A friend of mine discovered it this summer also and with her twins and her little daughter she just has her handful but this tool help her like me to be more free. And another thing I enjoy is that the family loves having pictures of our little ones and sometimes with a camera, the time we download the pictures, and send them, days goes by and sometimes it is too late.
I just enjoy taking pictures and send them immediately to anybody. My IPhone is my new buddy and you how do you use it?
In France many newspapers said it is more expansive to do your shopping online than offline for the back to school. So it is time for French people to run everywhere to find the right backpack, no wheels for my kids with the stairs it’s too dangerous said the teachers.
All the stores don’t have everything you need, and in August most of the stores are closed until the 24th.
So if you want to buy the special crayons or the princess pencil case go to Disney store on Champs Elysees or anywhere in the world, the price are 25% off on all the "back to school" articles so run now in the crowd or try to buy online it is still more easy.
When we are in US I try to keep a balance between reading French and English stories. Of course I can find French books for kids in public libraries, even if it is not a place dedicated for children so we have to be very quiet (humm not so easy).
As usual there is the Alliance Française and then if I want to buy something I go on Amazon.ca, it is the place to buy all the great French books for kids or parents.
And in Paris I go on Amazon.fr. It is the biggest English library for kids, adults. I love it. You can find a great selection of books for great price, because most of the time they have new and used books. A book I read to my kids lately is Fancy Nancy and the boy from Paris, I really liked it and my kids too.
For the one who live in the Bay area a new site opened that will help you to learn French to your kids. Like the site in New York this team is composed with French people and as the bay area is wide you can find a very close place to your home. The most important part is that it is affordable compare to the French schools in US.
For the one who live outside of the Bay area and New York, the CNED is another option. It is a distance learning for young French expatriates always in relations with French schools abroad and train teachers of French as a Foreign and Second Language.. The CNED send you everything to your house all over the world.
In France we have our famous Macarons and in US I discovered the Cupcake.
In Boston for the birthday party of her twins, a friend of mine bought some carrots cupcakes. I was amazed but it is like our Petit Four sucrés but more funny.
As a French girl when I watched American movies and saw these cupcakes I always thought their are not real but I discovered they are real and it is tasty!
So for the american people who visit Paris and want to buy these little cupcakes I know the place where to buy them. I discovered her through Message. She is doing a great job. The cupcakes are colorful in different shape. The kids love them because it is more easy to eat and can ask for a different one each time.
When you eat yourself vegetables you think your kids will eat vegetables too, but I discovered with my kids that it was another story with each of them. So I tried to find on the web recipes for kids until a friend of mine came home and brought some yummy chocolate muffins, my kids loved them. I discovered that is was made with zucchini!
The recipe was inspired by the blog Chocolate & Zucchini. For the one who don’t know it, it is written in English by a French blogger based in Paris that lived in Silicon Valley. It gives really good French recipes and I find many ideas for my kids. So if you are fed up with pasta and ham, it is a nice option for the whole family. Bon appétit.
As a French women when I meet American people some of them tell me that they went for the first time in Paris for their honeymoon but how many did they celebrate their wedding in Paris? For me it sounds really great. On her blog the owner gives good tips to attend a wedding with kids so either it’s your wedding or the one of someone else, you are prepared to make your dream comes true.
